Firstly, id like to apologise for the lateness of the posts lately, I’m hoping to get back on track ASAP! Anyhoo…this week was a week of progress, for both myself and Tiny, from little milestones to developmental achievements and i couldn’t be prouder…
Our week started with Tiny’s 9 – 12 month developmental check, I was both anxious and excited as we hadn’t seen the health visitor for quite a while now. I wondered if there was something we were doing wrong or that we were perhaps not feeding her enough as she wasn’t a very chunky baby, i ran a thousand questions through my mind and several scenarios that could have played out but thankfully i was pleasantly surprised.
As soon as we sat outside that little office, Tiny was showing off her newly learnt skills to the receptionist, midwife and health visitor that kept passing us by, she was stomping, squatting, waddling up and down the corridor and waving to anyone and everyone. Then when the health visitor opened the door, Tiny flashed her a big, beautiful gummy smile and staggered quickly into her room, us trailing behind her. ” I can see i can already tick that one off the checklist” She chuckled as she shut the door behind us and Tiny made a beeline for the toys in the centre of the room.
After ticking off the checklist, measuring and weighing our rapidly growing 10 month old. She was hitting all her marks on her growth chart which was a great feeling and to top it off she basically was ‘top score’ for all her developmental checks and we were so very proud…

Now i wont speak too loudly about it, i don’t want to jinx it but we have reached a point in Tiny’s sleep pattern where i’ll give her milk just before bed, turn on that classical music and snuggle her into me. Then when shes finished she just wants to be laid straight down in her crib and left to drift off by herself. Then as if we weren’t lucky enough shes been sleeping in to 7:30am and when we’ve let her, shes slept till 8:00am…it has been glorious!
One area of our lives that have been a bit difficult on progress is nabbing a little bit of extra overtime at work this week but it just seems like someone was out to stop me, every time i would leave earlier and earlier to make the 20 minute drive and every damn time, traffic would just appear (in the most random places too) and i would end up being later than the day before but all was not lost as i had decided this week to up the amount of protein shakes (Slender Blend – Vanilla) i was drinking after having a particularly ‘unhealthy’ weekend, i thought it would almost act as a sort of detox. So now i was replacing two meals a day, breakfast and lunch for the five days at work and then normal meals over the weekend. I gotta say, its not so bad, the shakes taste exactly like a vanilla milkshake and they genuinely do fill you up and then when i would get home, in the evenings i was doing my damnedest to complete my workout.
I caught a glimpse of myself in the mirror recently and all though it is slow, progress is being made and i couldn’t be happier!!
TINY TOOTH UPDATE: Plenty of dribble but STILL no teethy pegs!
